I first heard of Medjugorje in August of 1998 from a good family friend, Father Rick Velie. Father Rick told us of his experiences visiting Medjugorje a few years ago; of the miracles he experienced and witnessed. And of 6 young Bosnian children who on June 24, 1981 were blessed with an apparition of Our Lady.. the Gospa.

During his visit, Father Rick invited my brother-in-law, Mike, to join him and members of his St. Christopher's Prayer Group. They were making a pilgrimage to Medjugorje to visit the shrine, the church, the people and meet with a few of the visionaries.

The invitation was an extraordinary gift, for through it, many miracles and gifts were granted to many members of my family and our friends. But, Medjugorje? In Bosnia? Near Croatia? Where is that? Oh, gosh. It's where they're still fighting.. there's an active war in that region!

Mike, Father Rick and the St. Christopher's Prayer Group were about to begin an extraordinary odyssey. Not in the dramatic sense, but in a subtle sense. Not every miracle or blessing granted in Medjugorje results in a physical healing. Many are of a very personal nature.. healing your spirit, your heart, your soul. And with the beginning of their odyssey began my own.. of research. I wanted to know more and find answers to the myriad of questions that would not be quieted.

I began my research where I always do. On the Internet. I was shocked at how many references there were to Medjugorje! I had never heard of it prior to August of 1998. Because I rarely keep abreast of world events, much of the information I discovered confused to me. And it's why I decided, with the help of my very talented partner Paul, to create this website. To help others that have such difficulty absorbing and understanding the phenomenon of Medjugorje when they have little background to go on.
